iPling's "SMS groups":

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR USE OF IPLING, FOR ANY GROUP(S) YOU CREATE, FOR ANY CONTENT YOU TEXT TO THE PEOPLE THAT JOIN YOUR GROUP(S) AND FOR ANY CONSEQUENCES THEREOF. BY USING IPLING, YOU AGREE TO BE CONTACTED VIA TEXT MESSAGES BY THE AUTHORS OF THE GROUPS YOU JOIN AND BY THOSE THAT JOIN YOUR GROUPS.

Program Description: iPling's SMS group service allows users to i) send text messages to multiple recipients with a single SMS and ii) receive text messages from the authors of the groups they decide to join. Users may send up to 6 text messages per group per day and there is no restrictions on the number of groups a user can create or join.

Supported U.S. Carriers: iPling's SMS group service has been reviewed and approved by many of the major carriers, including AT&T, Sprint, Nextel, Virgin Mobile, Boost, T-Mobile, Cincinnati Bell, Alltel and US Cellular. We expect that the service will be approved by all major carriers by September 2011.

Cost in the U.S.: There are no premium charges associated with this service in the United States. Standard message and data rates may apply.

Group Size Limits: The maximum default group size is 25 (twenty five) members. You will be notified via text messages if and when any of your groups reach the default size limit. To bypass a group’s default size limit, you must agree to cover the associated costs incurred by iPling by purchasing iPling Credits under a private service contract with iPling, Inc. Note that such costs will not appear on your cell phone bill and will not be deducted from your prepaid balance.

Privacy Policy: Your privacy is our top concern. iPling will never, under any circumstances, sell or distribute your cell phone number to third parties or iPling clients for whom you have not approved. iPling will never directly market to you any services for which you have not opted in, either by cell phone, text message, or email. iPling will not distribute any personal information about you, including your phone number, name, billing information, or any other piece of identifying information.

How to opt-In: To use this service please first send the word START to 99123. Thereafter, users interested in sharing information must request an iPling group name by texting NEWGROUP followed by the name they want to use to iPling’s dedicated shortcode (99123). Upon confirmation of the group name availability by iPling, the group author may disclose the group name to those he/she wants to reach via SMS messages. To notify the group, authors must begin their text messages (sent to 99123) with the word NOTIFY or IPLING followed by the corresponding group name and by the message they want to comunicate. Users that are interested in receviving text messages can subscribe to a group by texting JOIN followed by the name of the group they are interested in following.

How to opt-out: You can opt-out of all iPling service at anytime by texting STOP to 99123. A confirmation message will be sent back to you. Group authors may disband their groups at any time by texting DISBAND followed by the corresponding group name to 99123. Group followers may drop out of individual groups by texting DROP followed by the corresponding group name to 99123.
